Mobilization Update

“Anxious,” “Pressured,” and “Unprepared”

The words above were the three most common replies when we asked our graduating seniors to describe how they were feeling about graduation. Add the economic effects of the COVID-19 pandemic into the mix and today’s graduating students face a unique amount of pressure.

Our mobilization efforts intend to come alongside students and help prepare them to transition well into life after college. At the heart of our ministry’s strategy is the belief that reaching the campus today will lead to global impact tomorrow. We emphasize with our students that our primary goal is not to enhance a fun college experience but to equip them for a lifetime of following Jesus and advancing his kingdom. Our desire is to help students see graduation as an opportunity to enter a new season of intentional ministry in their various contexts. During senior year, we invest in our students by helping them understand their gifts and how they can best be leveraged for kingdom impact after graduation.

We encourage students to consider three main pathways:

Some students join our staff team with a vision to advance the gospel on campus.

Many students invest in the Twin Cities. Our desire is to help these students graduate with an understanding of how they can play a critical role in God’s kingdom by being intentional in their neighborhoods and marketplaces.

Other students are uniquely burdened by the needs outside the United States, and they pursue opportunities to serve Jesus among the nations. Some go as traditional missionaries, while an increasing number are going as engineers, nurses, and more.

For students on each of these trajectories, we provide coaching and help as they consider the best next steps they can take to be prepared for the season ahead. We love the time we get to spend with our students throughout college and it is always hard to send them out, but launching them out into a lifetime of knowing Jesus and making him known is one of our great joys!
