UNIVERSITY OF MINNESOTA 2023 CAMPUS UPDATE

U of M Student Leaders

Our ministry has been blessed with incredibly devoted student leaders. We have 11 upperclassmen this year being discipled to grow in Christ-likeness with the intent to know Christ better. A key strategy for us this year has been being unified on a vision of evangelizing, and then moving to act it out. We strive for our student leaders to feel that they are constantly being equipped so that Campus Outreach at the U of M is not not just moving through staff efforts, but for students to take the calling of Christ to make disciples to a student body that is searching for something more in life.

I’m especially excited about this past season of ministry for three reasons:

Our weekly evangelistic event we host called Friday Feast

  1. Our upperclassmen are taking steps to move towards the church and be lifelong followers of Christ. We have had several students become members within the last year, with many more looking into membership this fall.

  2. We are reengaging a new generation of believers amongst freshmen. As our upperclassmen graduate, we are spending a lot of time initiating towards freshman and have had the opportunity to spend meaningful time with believers and nonbelievers.

  3. Nonbelievers continue to find our ministry a place where they can come to be seen. We host weekly events open to the campus that people of all kinds of beliefs continue to join even though we are not shy of our religious beliefs. Students know who we are, and keep choosing to engage with our students and ministry.

Let us pray that God would continue to be at work in and through the gospel-movement at the U of M.

Ethan Panchyshyn

“Campus Outreach has been a highly impactful part of my life. It was through this ministry that God showed me my sin and what it was like to be a Christian. This community has walked with me, spent intentional time forming relationships with me, and pointed me towards Jesus.”
