Before college, I was blessed with parents that wanted to show me faith, but I kept it at arm's length through most of my young life. I did not want Jesus to have control of my life; I was okay with having him be a part, just not the biggest part.
I attended Northwestern from 2018-2022 and in my first year, I was introduced to Campus Outreach. Over the next two years I was pushed and challenged in my faith where I constantly had to wrestle with the idea, "if God is real, and Jesus is who he says he is, he demands my whole life, not just a piece". This idea led me to a time of prayer and reflection where I asked God to remove the fear of giving up control in my life and help me have childlike faith. After this prayer, I changed my degree to ministry in the fall of 2020 and decided to live a life devoted to spreading the Gospel no matter the cost.
I decided to work for Campus Outreach because of their focus on evangelism and discipleship which leads us to have front-row seats in watching the way God moves in students' lives. CO cares for the individual student and takes the time to get to know them, walk alongside them, and challenge them, as they wrestle with the Gospel. We want to help students learn to make Christ their ultimate identity so that the Gospel can be proclaimed across the entirety of the world.
